Day 38

Read John 17:18-20

18 As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth. 20 “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word,

The life of a Jesus follower is meant to lead to other Jesus followers. Jesus has sent his followers into the world so that more people will believe in him. What has he sent us into the world to do? Verse 20 gives one answer to that question. We have been sent to tell others about the gospel of Jesus Christ so that they can hear it and believe. If you are a Jesus follower, Jesus wants you to live sent!

Where is God sending you? Is he sending you to your workplace? What about where you play? Live? What about where you go on vacation? The answer is YES! God wants you to live sent wherever you are!

End this quiet time in prayer. Ask God to show you a person he wants you to share the gospel with!

Day 37

“ALWAYS BEING READY TO MAKE A DEFENSE TO EVERYONE WHO ASKS YOU TO GIVE AN ACCOUNT FOR THE HOPE THAT IS IN YOU” – 1 PETER 3:13-17

Evangelism is a way of life rather than something we do.  As we live life on mission, we strategically position ourselves so that God can use us.  We all have different gifts, interests, and opportunities.  A student has such a different life from a mother of young children.  Despite the various spheres of influence we may have, the command is the same:  “be ready to give an account for the hope that is in you.”  Sometimes we are fearful that we don’t know what to say to others, but Peter tells us we can simply just tell people what God has done for us.  As we prayerfully prepare our hearts in the morning and pray that all through the day we are ready for the opportunities that He sets up, then we will begin to live a life on mission with Jesus.

Are you ready to share your story?  Do you know someone who needs to hear it this week?
